Kimberly D. Roper, PhD, is a licensed clinical and counseling psychologist since 2000. During graduate school at University of Denver she was the Coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Talent Search for three years and designed the first portfolio admissions process for homeschoolers to attend summer residential programs for the gifted. She has an early history of working in inpatient and outpatient medical settings providing assessment and counseling to diverse populations, specializing in oncology/hematology patients at UC Health and Anschutz Cancer Center. After many years of private counseling practice, she is excited to join the GDC to share her counseling background and personal experience of raising two profoundly gifted students with the families at GDC. Having personally experienced testing her child at the GDC many years ago, she understands how excellent assessment can be transformational in providing insight and direction for families. Her interests include parenting the gifted and advocacy, twice-exceptional students, alternative educational pathways, and the social-emotional development of gifted.
