Dana Clay

Dana Doherty Clay, M.Ed. taught her own four gifted children at home for well over 20 years, in addition to working with countless other students while teaching music privately.  In her 40’s, she became a teacher in public schools, where she matched appropriate curriculum and strategies to individual students as a Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of Supports Coordinator and Gifted Coordinator as well as in the classroom.  Her credentials include:  B.A. in Music Performance, M.Ed. in Gifted Education, and a current Colorado teaching license with multiple endorsements.  Dana has given presentations at the NAGC Conference, the CAGT Conference, Colorado Department of Education, and ECBOCES on Gifted in Music, Giftedness and the Arts, Identification and Programming, Creativity, and Self-directed Independent Study.

Dana supports families with solid information, and advice born of experience.  She works to nurture a strong sense of autonomy in parents so they feel confident, and ready to design and then implement their children's education at home.
